Being both underground and loosely organized, not much is known of BREACH, aside from the programs, software, and hardware released, and its presumed founder, the notorious netdiver, “Skipwell.”

BREACH netdivers can be found in the deep lattice. A dangerous and difficult to reach sunken sea of the greater lattice architecture. A place of constant warfare, where Ascendancy operators tirelessly battle Dissidents, UEE holdouts, off-world pirate networks, and even unknown intruding entities.

Although it’s not advertised, operating members of BREACH can be encountered outside of the net. It’s most likely these ne’er-do-wells will be found like roaches in places such as the Corpo Commons on Archlight, the many dense stacks of Earth cities, or other various backwater slums and hovels in the dark corners of the universe where criminals do hide.

History

BREACH appeared on the lattice in the mid 2250s. As stated by its presumed founder, who only goes by the netdiver’s name “Skipwell,” BREACH was formed directly in response to the supposed intent of the OEA to control the lattice. As is often the case when rebel factions arise in response to powerful groups, BREACH positioned itself as a de-centralized resistance fighting for the good of the common debtor. For this reason, BREACH sympathizers among Low-Life populations are numerous in the Ascendancy, today.

The term “netdiver” was popularized by, or others adjacent and involved with, members of BREACH. The net of the early ought’s of the 2250s was a veritable free-for-all of fast hacks, and deep lattice gatherings which the Ascendancy had a difficult time combating. It wasn’t until the creation of the Oculus that the OEA was able to curtail rampant netdiver activities.
