A pseudo name of the leader of the Dissidents, it is unknown who or what “Charon” really is. For all the Ascendancy knows, Charon could comprise an unspecified number of men, or even be a Figment Intelligence.
Biography
The infamous terrorist Charon has been active since before the Dissidents themselves were so-named by the One Earth Ascendancy. Seeker’s have collated the earliest reports to have come from the years shortly following the founding of the Ascendancy, or about 2245. Likely, the man, or grouping of men posing under the name, have been active since before that time.
Although not publicly announced, it is known by the OEA that Charon and his Dissidents have infiltrated many institutions of the Ascendancy. Just how far their network of spies and saboteurs travel is not exactly known, and neither is the extent to which Ascendancy officials are compromised. Oculus holds that at least one in a hundred Ascendancy officials could be compromised. Of High-Lifers, one in fifty. Of Low and Mid-Lifers, likely one out of ten.
As of 2277EE the leader of the Dissidents, Charon, is wanted for a plethora of crimes against the Ascendancy. His latest transgression is for the bombing on Maternity Station, which took the lives of many doctors, nurses, families, and women legally pregnant with child, as well as a tenth part of a generation’s worth of Human Resources.
