Labeled “a mere grouping of criminal scum,” by Administrator Ubel of House Sarkessian, the Dissidents are all but entirely eradicated. Following the Scourging of the RIAM, and the subsequent quelling of the Fireland during the Sarkessian Offensive, the Dissidents have been ground to dust. Now reduced to base terrorism, no decent, upstanding, and loyal debtor of the Ascendancy could ever support the animals who dissent against the High Seat of the Ascendancy. Let alone the future progress of all mankind for all ages in the perpetual Way of Eternal Enlightenment.
At least, that is the official stance of the OEA. In reality, the Dissidents have proven themselves to be a painful thorn in the foot of the Ascendancy’s mighty heel. Effective, covert, and quick, the Dissident Luddites strike often, and with minimal casualties to either side. Usually, Dissidents are encountered ambushing transports, and other targets which carry goods considered “high-value” to Ascendancy military and government.
Recently, in the month of June 2277, Dissidents orchestrated a barbaric attack on Maternity Station. This event solidified Debtor opinion that the Dissidents are Terrorists.
History of the Dissidents
In the year 2243AD, captured members of the Dissidents claim to have sprung up like a weed as simple concerned Debtors to the newly mandated language, religion, and currency established by the OEA. These scum claimed that this new world hegemony would lead to the subjugation or destruction of all mankind. In true benevolent fashion, the OEA issued a public decree labeling all who oppose them as “Oppositional dissidents to the safety, progress, peace, and prosperity of all mankind.” As such, all Debtors to the OEA are implored to report any and all such opposition to the New Path of Man. These “oppositional dissidents,” in their hypocritical hubris, proudly took the name of “Dissidents,” in reverence for their beliefs, and went underground for fear of the mighty fist of the Ascendancy.
