Jax is a friendly, jovial man loved for his ability to advise people in the worst of life’s situations. Most people look at him like a beloved grandfather.
He is also known for his ability to acquire goods which the Ascendancy deems illegal. Why he is permitted to continue doing so is a mystery. But it is said that High-Lifers and members of the Ascendancy’s highest echelons also rely on him for the same things.
Biography
Born in 2204EE, Jax has lived long enough to have seen the fall of the United Earth Empire, and the rise of the Ascendancy. In fact, Jax fought for the Empire in several battles against the Ascendancy. He was in his mid fourties when he was discharged from the Empire after being injured in the line of duty.
Much of Jax’s early life is a mystery, and the man has never provided a detailed self-biography. Various tales spun over drinks and smokes claim he was an officer in the United Earth Empire, and the captain of a ship. At one time, Jax claimed he headed colonization of the planet Caesarea, which was among the first UEE colonized planets to be re-incorporated into mankind’s Ascendancy. He has also claimed to have been a smuggler and a pirate. The details and dates of the events have never been confirmed.
We first meet Jax in 2277 at his bar in the Corpo Commons on Archlight Station.
In 2277 Jax is the owner and proprietor of Jax’s Place, situated in the Corpo Commons. He is an admired confident and friend of many of Archlight’s Low-Life population, and has a soft spot for cigars, which are often called “burners” among that class.
